WHSMITH DOWN BUT NOT OUT (YET).

Last millennium's favourite Bookshop & Stationers is to close stores after announcing a drop in profits.
Social media is alive today with theories about why WH Smith is struggling, with many seeing ‘overpriced’ items and ‘irritating’ self-service checkouts as the reason.
Piers Morgan blasted the ailing chain this morning: ‘Bit of advice WH Smith: get rid of those irritating auto-checkout machines that you only brought in to save money on staff. ‘I want human interaction in shops like yours; it’s faster, easier and more welcoming.’
How very different things may have turned out for them, if they hadn't made myself redundant in the early 1980's giving me no alternative but to set up in competition with them?
