Nearby, between Bridlington North and Bridlington South beaches, the historic harbour is a hive of activity, with fishing boats bringing in the days catch, pleasure cruises along the heritage coast, speedboat rides across the bay and North Sea fishing expeditions all on offer. For traditional entertainment there is the sea-front funfair and donkey rides on the sands, plus many family attractions including the much improved Promenades Shopping Centre. The re-furbished Bridlington Spa is now also open for business again and offers a packed program of varied events all year round. Outside The Spa, the gardens renovations too are now complete and offer a new contemporary space to sit and unwind, with the benefit of stunning sea views. On the edge of town is Sewerby Hall and Gardens, where pitch and putt, a bowling green, adventure playground, craft workshops, a small zoo, plus the Clock Tower Tea Rooms, ensure that there is plenty to keep all the family happily entertained. No stay on this part of the coast is complete without a trip to the stunning Flamborough Head and to Flamborough North Landing (where probably the best whippy ice cream cornets in East Yorkshire are sold!).
