ONE OF OUR FIRST CUSTOMERS FROM THE EIGHTIES BECOMES HEAD COACH FOR ENGLAND CRICKET

Chris Silverwood had just turned 12 years old when we opened our 1st Bookshop at Garforth near Leeds, West Yorkshire, in May 1987.

As one of our very first customers, sport books were his preference in non fiction!

A big customer too in our Stationery Department, buying all his school requisites for Garforth Comprehensive.

I remember as if it were yesterday, a month or maybe more, sharing his excitement in 1993 when he made his debut as a right arm fast bowler for Yorkshire County Cricket Club.
